The hidden shapes of money — explore why coins are round, square, wavy, holed, or heptagonal through history, design, and engineering.
An interactive reference app for curious minds and collectors.
Coin Geometry is an educational iOS app that answers a simple but fascinating question: why are some coins round, and others square, scalloped, holed, or seven-sided?
From Lydia’s first struck coins to the UK 50p’s constant-width heptagon and Japan’s holed yen, every shape tells a story of history, design, and engineering. Coin Geometry brings those stories to life with spinning 3D coins, a world atlas, a timeline, a coin-design lab, mini-games, and quizzes — all in English, with no account required.
Whether you are a student, a collector, or simply curious about the money in your pocket, Coin Geometry turns numismatics into an interactive experience.
Seven shape stories, four continents, and hands-on tools to learn by doing.

The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.
To provide a personalised learning experience, the App stores the following information locally on your device only using iOS UserDefaults:
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third party, because the App has no backend server.
Coin Geometry is designed to work fully offline. The App does not make network requests to collect data, sync content, or serve advertisements. If you contact us by email, your email provider’s privacy practices apply to that communication.
